"Seven months later, at most meetings, we are still discussing the principles we learned and making references to PTE challenges."
~S. Yokley, Manager
National Healthcare"The danger in making leadership and team principles too simple is that people in our culture simply look over them as just another catch phrase, acronym, or bullet point. So [in our programs] we want to expound upon principles with challenges and real practical application, not just games" This is a quote from the new book written by the owners of Past The Edge with a title of the same name. It exemplifies what PTE is striving to do with every moment of a team development program...use challenging activities to expound upon fundamental principles.
With both our High Adventure and Portable Challenge programs principles are remembered because they are taught during and after a challenging activity and must be "applied" in order for a team to succeed. These principles are then retained in the long term memory of each team member and not just memorized for a short time as is typical of non-interactive seminars and low challenge classes or games. Games are fun, but PTE is impactful.
PTE certainly did not invent this type of experiential learning. However because so many of our clients are successful companies and teams in their own right, we continue to learn from them. We learn what they consider important, how they have become successful, what works and doesn't work with our programs, and how we might emulate them...that's right how we can emulate the success of our clients. Our PTE team thirsts for knowledge and we admit that we learn a great deal from every program in order to better serve the next client. We believe this is what makes PTE one of the best at what we do.
If you are looking for just an adventure trip for your team, then there are hundreds of companies in the outdoor adventure business who will be happy to assist you. If you are looking for something adventurous and challenging which will fuel team unity, develop leadership, and be (not just look) educational; then Past The Edge would value the opportunity to serve you...and learn from you at the same time.
Programs range from one to five days depending on the needs of the group.
